Power Management IC

A power management IC (PMIC) is an integrated circuit that contains multiple power rails and power management functions on a single chip. PMICs are commonly used to power small, battery-powered devices, as the integration of multiple functions into a single chip provides greater space utilization and system power efficiency. Common functions integrated into PMICs include voltage converters and regulators, battery chargers, battery meters, LED drivers, real time clocks, power sequencers and power controls.

Low-power PMICs provide the high efficiency and small size required for space-constrained applications such as wearables, ear-mounted devices, sensors and IoT devices. High-performance PMICs maximize power-per-watt utilization while improving system performance and are ideally suited for computationally intensive platforms such as System-on-Chip (SoC), FPGAs and application processors.
